Ditch Brisket is a Sussex-based catering company that specializes in American-style BBQ as a Streetfood caterer. Founded by James Loye, a self-proclaimed BBQ enthusiast, Ditch Brisket has been making waves in the Sussex and the surrounding area food scene recently and for a few years on the BBQ competition circuit.

James’s passion for BBQ began over 10 years ago, and he has since then spent countless hours perfecting his craft. In addition to catering, James is also part of the Weber grill squad and an ambassador for the brand. This has given him the opportunity to cook for large crowds at various events across the country.

Ditch Brisket was born out of James’s desire to share his passion for BBQ with others. All of the food at Ditch Brisket is cooked on smokers, which gives it that authentic American flavour. If you’re looking for some delicious BBQ in Sussex, be sure to give Ditch Brisket a try!

The beef must come from some sort of magical cow. Absolutely brilliant simple burgers with great ingredients, beautiful prepared and put together. The star is the beef patty itself, just full of rich beefy flavour. I had to order a second one just because I'm a fat lump and it was so good. Didn't try the chips because the main event warranted full attention but will definitely be back.

We booked Ditch Brisket for our wedding after trying some of their food at the Missing link Brewery. James provided an amazing Menu with different options to fit in with our day. He ensured everyone was looked after, from the kids with their own special chicken baskets to all special dietary requirements. Their set up looked great and worked so well at serving out food to the 80+ guests without delay. The food was delicious, everyone was very well fed. They even provided their infamous Pickle Back shots that were a massive hit with all. James and his team were super friendly and accommodating. We are so happy we chose them for our special day.

The most delicious burger and chips we've ever had! we went to east preston festival and must say these guys did the best food there! my husband and I love a good burger but my god this was by far the best burger we've ever had, soooo much flavour and the guys were very professional!

What a wonderful find…delicious and fresh! We honestly cannot get enough of Ditch Brisket at the moment from James’s succulent pulled beef to the hash brown casserole and BBQ beans…and don’t forget the garnish! Pickles to die for! Heaven on a street food pop-up disposable plate.
